This course will focus on Chinese commercial law and practice. Topics will include:

§         Economic reform and commercial law development;

§         Globalisation and its impact on commercial law;

§         Capital market, and its regulatory and supervisory framework;

§         Bankruptcy law and corporate rescue;

§         Development of real property law

Capital market and its regulatory and supervisory framework

The course will examine both statutory law and cases in these specific areas. While the present law and practice will be the focus of the course, various legislative and policy reform measures now under consideration by the Chinese government and legislative authorities will also be introduced and explained.
